Lely launches the Lely Storm trailed flywheel forage harvesters

The name and colour is new but the Lely Storm 130 P trailed forage harvester – originally a product of Mengele Agrartechnic AG – has proven itself over many years. The reliability and long life of these machines have been proven under the Mengele brand with high trade-in values acting as proof of their quality.

The Lely Storm works efficiently, saves energy and gives a maximum output. The high capacity in combination with low maintenance makes this machine ideal for contractors and large farmers.

The 1,800 mm wide pick-up leaves no grass behind thanks to the five tine bars with a tine spacing of only 54 mm. Even wide, bulky or uneven swaths with short crop are easily managed by these properties. The pick-up accurately follows the ground contours giving a smooth lifting action without breaking the flow of the swath.

Four intake rollers create a maximum compression and a reliable and even in-feed of the crop. The Profi model is equipped with an electronic metal detector on one of the intake rollers to shut down the in-feed immediately when a metal object is detected.

The 1,300 mm flywheel with 10 knives and 5 blowing paddles maximizes the chopping quality and provides a powerful and rapid filling of the trailers. The low horse power requirements for chopping and transporting the crop results in significant fuel saving thanks to the huge flywheel.

The unique onboard hydraulic system provides an independent, accurate oil flow. A built-in oil pump with its own oil reservoir supplies the hydraulic power for raising the pick-up and reversing the drive and spout rotation. All parts of the system are fully integrated with electro-hydraulic in-cab controls, which help reduce the operators fatigue on long working days.

The Lely Storm sets high standards in trailed forage harvesting and by adding forage harvesters to the Forage Solutions range, Lely again expands its all-embracing portfolio including Lely Splendimo mowers, Lely Lotus tedders, Lely Hibiscus rakes, Lely Welger balers, Lely Attis balewrappers and Lely Tigo loader wagons. For Lely this is a step forward in meeting customer demand for an all inclusive range of durable forage harvesting machinery.
