Timely tedding is important to ensure fast and even drying. Sufficient output combined with a proper turning action limits the wilting period and, hence, the field period as well as any delay in re-growth.

Lely Lotus 1250 Profi - A basic trailed tedder with an outstanding output

Maassluis, 18 October, 2012 - Following an increasing demand for large tedders Lely has extended its product range to include the new Lely Lotus 1250 Profi trailed tedder. As with all other trailed tedders, the construction of this machine is compatible with the so-called carrier concept that Lely has been applying since 1997 and that has proven to be a huge success. The new tedder has a 12.50 m working width and features ten rotors, each with seven tines.

The new 12.50 m wide tedder is equipped with everything it needs to ensure optimal performance of the unique Lely hook tines. The long draw bar ensures easy surveyability as well as a steady machine run while the wheels of the carrier ensure exact working depth due to the infinite adjustment. The interconnected protection guards increase the stability of the drive line without any concessions to ground contour following. A perfectly clean crop pick-up and optimal tedding action are thus guaranteed.

Control of this tedder is exceptionally simple. The machine can be folded and unfolded quickly and efficiently with the tractor’s hydraulic system. When turning on headlands, the tedder normally remains on the ground but for other operations the machine can be quickly lifted into a convenient headland position.

To move from the working position to the transport position, four rotors on either side are folded forward after which they sink into the rugged transport supports. The Profi attachment of the Lotus 1250 moves the tedder's pivoting point farther to the rear of the draw bar ensuring easy manoeuvring of the machine, in spite of its length. The stable construction and small transport width guarantee comfortable road transport.

With the Lotus 1250 Profi, Lely has filled the gap between the 10.20 m and 15.00 m machines by combining the best of two tedders. The result is a basic machine featuring a large working width plus an exceptionally high output, which will certainly provide a welcome addition to the forage harvesting machine park of many cattle farmers.
