20 years robotic milking
In 1992 Lely introduced the Lely Astronaut milking robot. This groundbreaking product was acknowledged as the most important invention of the 20th century for dairy farmers. To celebrate this milestone Lely has planned worldwide activities.

International symposium
Another prominent event celebrating twenty years robotic milking is an international leading symposium about a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future in farming. This external event is powered by Lely and will focus on the dairy business and all sectors which are involved with the cow and the farmer.
International captains of industry and renowned top speakers from governments, universities, agricultural organizations and other sectors will be invited to share their vision on future farming. Subjects and speakers are related to the dairy business and at wide range of its products. Topics include sustainability, energy, health care, service, food, agricultural studies, financing, barn builders, insurance, automation, farming in emerging markets and corporate social responsibility. Plenary sessions, workshops, debates and discussions between speakers and participants will make this a powerful and instructive event.
The symposium will be held in 2013 in the ‘1931 Congress Center’ in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Being the first fully covered cattle market in the Netherlands, this venue is on the list of national monuments and perfect for our symposium. For years cows and calves exchanged from owner to owner on this location. Now we exchange knowledge and skills.
