Strategic co-operations
To further improve operational efficiency and to reinforce our market presence and worldwide marketing coverage, Lely has concluded some key partnerships.
Lely and Vermeer go back to the eighties…
…when Lely started to produce modular cutter bars for the Vermeer product range. Vermeer is a family-owned company, operating in the field of agriculture as well as compacting and environmental equipment. Earlier last century it was decided that Lely forage harvesting products in North America were going to be sold under the Vermeer brand and in the Vermeer colours. In 2008 Vermeer and Lely jointly acquired German agricultural baler and bale-wrapper manufacturer Welger Maschinenfabrik GmbH. In the meantime the partnership has been further intensified; both companies are increasingly also benefitting from each other’s knowledge in a number of areas; from the adoption of the Lean principles, to joined patent management and new strategic product developments.
Triodor is a global sourcing company…
…which is specialised in Software Development and headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Together with Triodor, Lely started a Lely Triodor software development company in Istanbul, Turkey, to meet current and future challenges in software development. The Lely Astronaut A3 Next introduced in 2009, featured the first in-house developed managementprogram; Lely’s T4C (Time for Cows); presenting the data as real management information to dairy farmers.
In September 2009, CA FNZ and Lely…
…announced the foundation of the joint venture Lely CA, allowing cattle farmers all over the world the benefits of a professional team of sale advisors boasting milking technology expertise as well as know-how in the field of consumables. CA FNZ supplies a comprehensive range of quality products and services to more than 25,000 dairy farmers to contribute to the production and extraction of an outstanding raw material: milk.
Lely and Green Energy Technologies embark on joint venture
Lely and Green Energy Technologies (GET) have started a joint venture to stimulate 'lifecycle-neutral' operations on dairy farms.
For Lely, this co-operation is definitely a clear step within its strategy to develop sustainable applications for the agricultural business. Next to the development of products with a proven long life span as well as the lowest possible energy consumption, Lely now also goes for complete business concepts that ensure energy-neutral operations in the farming sector.
The first project within this joint venture is a new and sustainable manure refining system, AgriMoDEM, which has been developed by GET.
