Maassluis, 18 June 2012 – On the occasion of the 2012 Lely Field Days in Switzerland, Lely will be introducing a new line of trailed mowers: the Splendimo models PC 330 PC and PC 370 with respective working widths of 3.25m and 3.65m. The Splendimo PC mowers show some surprising features in terms of stability, crop throughput, power requirements as well as ground contour following. This new line has been developed in collaboration with Vermeer, Lely's American strategic partner. It is thanks to joint experience and expertise that a broad product range – including extensive options for all conditions – has been realised.
To ensure optimal performance, maximal room has been created by constructing the supporting frame as broad as possible and by placing the wheels on the inside. This allows the use of an exceptionally wide conditioning rotor to optimise crop throughput from the cutter bar. The generously sized conditioner hoods benefit from the space above the wheels so that the swath formers are perfectly aligned to the rotor. In addition, they ensure a streamlined crop control enabling both narrow swaths and effective wide spreading.
In view of the heavy conditions in which trailed mowers have to operate most of the time, a new cutter bar has been developed. In the process, the low power requirements for which Lely Splendimo disc mowers are renowned were combined with unrivalled sustainability. The modular cutter bars feature the innovative Quick Switch obstacle safety, which is integrated into the drive of the mower disc.
The new mowers provide extensive possibilities in terms of conditioners and swath formers. The standard conditioner is equipped with steel conditioning flails and extendable swath boards. To enable effective wide spreading, an additional, easily adjustable wide spreading device is available. In addition, the mowers can be fitted with a lateral discharge conveyor. A roller-type conditioner with special, highly wear-proof rollers is available for operations in leafy crops.
With this new and comprehensive line of trailed Splendimo PC mowers, Lely has made a significant move towards an even wider range of state-of-the-art disc mowers. Sustainability, quality and versatility were key to the development process and therefore these high-quality machines offer excellent perspectives for the specific market place of trailed mowers.
