Established in 1974, Lely Australia is a leading supplier of agricultural machinery and robotic milking systems to Australian farmers. Based in country Victoria at Rochester, Lely Australia has a close connection to the rural and farming community.
Lely Australia Pty Ltd
After Lely's successful beginnings in Europe, it sought expansion into the USA and Australia. Lely UK initiated the Australian operations by appointing a sole sales representative with just one product - the Lely Roterra.
Then in 1974 the company, Lely Australia Pty Ltd, was officially established. Also after much investigation of suitable alternatives for its base in a regional Victorian area, the Rochester location in northern Victoria was settled on due to the availability of an existing suitable warehouse facility and its location in the Goulburn Valley, a rich irrigated dairying and fruit growing region. This enables Lely Australia to have a close connection to the rural and farming community - keeping it right in touch with their needs and expectations.
Lely Australia markets its agricultural equipment through a national dealer network of around 100 dealers throughout Australia. As well as distributing the Lely range of forage and fodder conservation equipment, Lely Australia also distributes machinery from associated companies including Vermeer from the USA, Sgariboldi from Italy and Tulip from Holland.
Lely Australia also markets the Lely Astronaut milking robot system and associated dairy equipment through special dairy division dealers known as “Lely Center” dealers.
