An opening event was held at the new office with a mixture of staff, customers, Lely Centre and Lely Service partners attending.

“With the opening of the new office and warehouse, I am confident we are well-positioned to support the continuously growing demand from dairy farmers in Oceania over the next 5 to 10 years” said Wil van Vorstenbosch, Cluster Manager Lely Oceania.

Lely, serving Australia since 1974 and specialising in dairy automation since 2001, reinforces its commitment to the future with this new move, ensuring continued support for the dairy farming industry across Australia and New Zealand.

Positive momentum on milking robots

In recent years, we have seen a clear shift in attitudes toward milking robots. These systems have proven their value on numerous Australian dairy farms, driving increased milk production while offering farmers greater flexibility in their daily routines.

At the grand opening of Lely Australia's new premises, several individuals shared their thoughts on the future of robotic milking. Third-generation dairy farmer Gordon Lockett from Gippsland remarked:

"Robotic milking is the way to go, labour is getting harder to find. The ones you find, they prefer not to work in the weekends. Everyone knows that milking cows, dairy farming is 7 days a week, twice a day job. Transitioning to robotic milking is a mind changer for me what takes the pressure out of the job.”

We look back on a successful opening of our new premises and are proud and confident to keep on supporting our dairy farmers in Australia and New Zealand into the future. Towards a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future in farming.

“Robotic milking has a huge opportunity, I mean it is just starting now and slowly it is getting quicker and quicker, more people getting interested in it. From my perspective it gives you a much better lifestyle what I consider being the biggest bonus of it.” – John van Adrichem, dairy farmer in Tasmania.
