In September 2015 Lely celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Lely Discovery mobile barn cleaner. During this decade, feedback from customers has led to many improvements without ever changing the concept. This resulted in a reliable and durable product that has broken some impressive records.

Lely releases Lely Control for iOS: an application which enables farmers to operate the Lely Juno feed pusher and Lely Discovery mobile barn cleaner with an iPhone, iPad or iPod. Teus de Jong, Product Manager Feeding products at Lely International, explains that a similar application for Android phones, which Lely introduced in June 2014, is so successful that an Apple version could not be excluded.

The Lely-Onet Farm is the first farm in Turkey with Lely milking robots. Two Lely Astronaut A4 robots have been placed in a brand new barn in the town of Balıkesir, milking 120 Holstein cows imported from Germany.

Lely have today announced they will not further invest in a manure refining system known as Agrimodem. In 2011 Lely made public they intended to bring this product to market through a joint venture with GET, Green Energy Technologies, but they have now decided to focus on other manure refinement opportunities.

The Van Leeuwen Dairy Group in Canterbury who successfully introduced large scale robotic dairying to New Zealand in 2009 with 16 A3 robots, have purchased 24 Lely Astronaut A4 milking robots to be delivered this year. Aad & Wilma van Leeuwen’s choice for Lely comes from their experience with the management of large herds through the Lely concept.

Lely Group in the Netherlands and New Zealand-based Livestock Improvement Corporation (NZX: LIC) have entered into a new partnership aimed at accelerating developments in sensor technology and increasing utilisation on farms worldwide. The partnership includes the acquisition of Lely Sensortec by LIC.
