With the launch of the Lely Astronaut A5 earlier this year, our milking robot stepped up in terms of ease of use and uptime. Easy maintenance was key during the development of the milking robot as well as a user-friendly interface to manage the machine.

Lely engineers and technicians on what that means in their daily practice on our customers’ farms.

Step up
‘The Astronaut A4 is a very efficient and excellent performing robot. The A5 is a step above that,’ says Kevin Bender, Product Specialist Lely North America. He emphasizes the ease of maintenance for the service technician, which is confirmed by Melle Plat, Product Specialist Lely Center Heerenveen (the Netherlands). ‘We have actually had very few problems even at the start up stage,’ adds Melle.

Easy servicing
Thanks to the large central unit, the heart of the robot is easily accessible. ‘You can almost walk in to it,’ says Frank Jensen, Service technician Lely Center Tarm (Denmark). Service technicians can do their jobs and maintain the milking robot without the help of their Lely Center.

A smooth and silent working milking robot bringing less alarms, less calls and maximum uptime. Not only resulting in more time to spend on other activities on the farm, but also delivering more milk in the tank and improved farm results.
