You are the Electronics expert in the Product Development project team, which is dedicated to one Lely product. Imagine milking robots, automatic feed systems and the accompanying management systems. If something needs to move, you know how to select the solution which has the capability to get feed or cows in motion. You work with various electronic systems, ranging from power electronics, sensors, cameras, valves and more. You will pour your ideas into a design or requirements. Our suppliers will assist you in this process. They will build the prototypes of your design. Subsequently, you will construct your own test setup in our extensive workshop (which people also like to call our technical playground). After this, you can rely upon our testing farms where you will test everything in the field.
At the department, you will work together with 150 other engineers that dedicate themselves to improving existing Lely solutions and come up with and test new solutions. In your team, you will work together with a mechanical engineer and an embedded software specialist. You will often interface with suppliers, the purchase department and the testing farms. You are involved with the entire chain, from the initial idea to the final product.
As you are a senior in the team, you will also coach some more junior colleagues, think along with the management about the roadmaps and processes.
You are a specialist in the field of electronics and a polymath in terms of the various systems and their accompanying supplier markets. You are a true thinker and doer. You communicate easily with colleagues of other departments and external suppliers.
A job for a true inventor, at a company driven by innovation. In the span of two years you will see your ideas come to life as they leave the factory, upon which they will be used by dairy farms.
At Lely, we believe in achieving a sustainable, profitable and agreeable future for dairy farmers by combining robotisation, engineering and farming expertise.
It all started with a dream cherished by two brothers in Maassluis 70 years ago, and ever since, we have worked to become innovative market leaders in automated systems for dairy farmers across the globe. With a team of 1,600 professional specialists, we work constantly to bring about revolutionary solutions for the agro industry. We are based at our Maassluis Campus, a building which features the highest sustainability performance possible, not just in the Netherlands, but on a global scale. Our overall objective: making dairy farming interesting, also for the coming generations.
