What is your role?

Lely is a Dutch company that develops and builds robots for the dairy industry. It is Lely’s goal to fully automate the day-to-day farm processes so farmers can spend time doing the things they love. At Lely, we develop Lely’s Farm Management Solution, which is called Lely Horizon. Horizon directly interfaces with the Lely robots on the farm and provides farmers with key insights into their business. The application is rolled out to 10s of thousands of farms worldwide.

Given that Lely deals with live animals, delivering high quality, bug-free software is crucial. That’s why we feel it is important to take extra time to properly document code, write unit tests and perform code reviews and keep an eye on the running systems. For both the Cloud software and the software deployed to the farm, our aim is to move towards continuous delivery.

What will you be doing:

Work on the continuous development of our Horizon farm management software;
Collaborate with back-end chapter and UI/UX chapter to create cohesive and consistent user interfaces.
Collaborate with the frontend chapter to understand the existing code-base and identify opportunities for implementing a micro front-end architecture.
Design and develop modular components using Angular, adhering to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks related to front-end code.
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, scalability, and maintainability.
Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to Angular and micro front-end architectures.

What is your experience?

Bachelor in Computer Science/Engineering or similar;
Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
Strong proficiency in Angular framework, including Angular CLI, Angular components, services, and directives.
Strong understanding and experience with designing Micro Front-end Architecture;
Strong understanding of responsive design principles
Experience working with UX Designers
Experience with UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch
Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, or Protractor for unit and end-to-end testing.
Experience with Cross Platform solutions like Ionic/Cordova, Electron and Capacitor is a plus
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, and experience with collaborative development workflows.
