Lely is the global market leader for robotic milking systems and produces a number of specialized innovative robots to automate daily tasks on the dairy farm. Like feeding and cleaning.
The Lely organization is quickly growing and has a strong ambition to increase pace. Our customers expect that new products live up to the standards of our existing products, which have become mature through years of service and experience. Additionally the growth of the company has led to faster ramp-ups of production for new products with lower tolerance for repairing reliability issues while producing.
The Lely Product Development team is organised in a matrix model, where Competence Centers assure availability of required development competencies, tools and supporting processes. Product Development has competence centers for Mechanical engineering, Electronics, Embedded software, Front-end software, Data & AI and for Sensor development.
The development of our robotic solutions takes place in a multi-disciplinary setup, where engineers from different disciplines, mainly mechanical, software and electronics, collaborate in a project organization.
This places a growing emphasis on the way we test our new products before releasing them to the field. We have a group of specialized testers that develop tests & test equipment in close cooperation with the product (design) engineers.
Due to our growth, we are now looking for an experienced engineer to guide a group of testers that perform the test & verification of mechanical and electronic hardware and its integration in our robotic systems.
Lead Engineer Mechatronical Verification
Your role is to lead by example and guide the process that eventually leads to product release for volume production. You will coach both the testers and the product engineers by underlining the importance of testable requirements and data driven conclusions. You will define the system verification strategy and advise on design maturity (as tested) during milestone passage.
Additionally you are a ‘people-person’ and you will, as their manager, coach a group of 8-12 junior and medior engineers. You will help them to develop themselves both technically and personally. The role is designed to give you the opportunity to work intensively with both technology and people. Maintaining a helicopter view and being able to bridge the gap between disciplines during development are essential skills.
If you feel you are up to this challenging role in a dynamic environment, please apply!
A job for a true inventor, at a company driven by innovation. You will see your ideas come to life as they leave the factory to our customer, the dairy farmer. At the end you will contribute to a sustainable way of farming.
