What is your role?

Lely is a Dutch company that develops and builds robots for the dairy industry. It is Lely’s goal to fully automate the day-to-day farm processes so farmers can spend time doing the things they love. At Lely, we develop Lely’s Farm Management Solution, which is called Lely Horizon. Horizon directly interfaces with the Lely robots on the farm and provides farmers with key insights into their business. The application is rolled out to 10s of thousands of farms worldwide.
Given that Lely deals with live animals, delivering high quality, bug-free software is crucial. That’s why we feel it is important to take extra time to properly document code, write unit tests and perform code reviews and keep an eye on the running systems. For both the Cloud software and the software deployed to the farm, our aim is to move towards continuous delivery.

Work on the continuous development of our Horizon farm management software;
Obtain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the business processes of a dairy farm;
Identify performance bottlenecks and implement performance improvements;
Translate functional requirements into technical requirements;
Identifying and disseminating "best practice" in the development and maintenance of applications and systems;
Monitor and optimize the performance of systems and infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient operations;
Deep dive into the root cause of customer facing issues;

What is your experience?

Bachelor in Computer Science/Engineering or similar;
A few years working experience as a C# and .NET Developer;
Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases;
Excellent knowledge of RESTful API Development;
Knowledge about designing and engineering for cloud environments such as Azure and AWS;
Experience with developing microservices;
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes;
Understanding of networking and security;
Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written (Dutch is a plus);
Willing to travel;
