As a Senior Software Engineer you are the driving force within the Vector team. With your experience and enthusiasm you will guide junior and medior team members towards the further development and the maintenance of our automated feeding system and other automated guided vehicles.

As a senior member of the software development team you participate (are involved) in every phase of the product development process to finalize a production worthy system. The team challenge is namely to translate the requirements to a solid software design.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Taking an active role in technical decision making and setting direction.
  • Ensure code quality by coaching and helping out other team members.
  • Make sure requirements result in an awesome product.

Your daily activities will include:

  • Designing and implementing C++ (embedded) software.
  • Proofing your implementation in our workshop or on location at our test farms
  • Optimizing data structures and algorithms used in production.
  • Maintaining existing embedded software including parts of legacy code.
  • Ensuring quality control based on design and code reviews, writing of unit and integration tests.
  • Taking an active role in the agile work process by contributing on planning, project progress and managing risks and threats.

What is your experience?

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science (or a similar study).
  • You have at least 8 years of experience with software engineering using languages like C++, C# or Java.
  • You have experience in creating event driven programs and control loops.
  • Knowledge of Embedded Systems, Can, CanOpen and ROS 2 is a plus.
  • You have working knowledge of Linux and Git.
  • Experience in working in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
  • Affinity with mechatronics is a plus.
  • EU-citizenship is required.
