What is your role?

On the Robotic Application Software department, we develop software that helps automate dairy farms. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with a focus on DevOps practices to strengthen our team and play a crucial role in improving the efficiency, reliability, and performance of the software running on our robots.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software, optimizing automated CI/CD build pipelines and managing Linux systems. You will play a proactive role in designing, improving, and monitoring the system architecture.

Are you the Software Engineer with a DevOps focus that we are looking for?

Your main responsibilities are: 

  • Implement and optimize build pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Manage and update embedded Linux systems and improve images.
  • Automate routine tasks using Python and Bash scripts.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Python or C++ software that controls our robots.
  • Keep software libraries up-to-date to improve software stability and security.
  • Detect and resolve software issues with the goal of minimal downtime and stable operation.
  • Write efficient and maintainable code and address technical debt.
  • Ensure quality control through code reviews, unit and integration testing.
  • Contribute to the agile working method within the team.

What is your experience?

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar domain. 
  • Experience in embedded software engineering and DevOps for several years.
  • Knowledge of Python and Bash scripting, and familiarity with C++.
  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Understanding of containerization and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Podman, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CanOpen, DDS, or Matlab Stateflow is a plus.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
