Developing revolutionary products, launching them on the market successfully and ensuring profitable business results – that is what your team is about! As the head of the Lely Consumables (Value) Team, you will ensure effective communication and collaboration among the various disciplines that can make products more successful, prompting them to challenge one another to achieve the optimum. In combination with your knowledge of the consumables branch, true 'chemistry' is bound to emerge. Could this be something for you?
What is your role?
Lely operates with dedicated Value Teams whose purpose is to improve innovative products, prepare them for sale and ensure that our market share is increased. We are currently looking for general managers for three Value Teams, each poised to operate dynamically with their team in the years to come.
These Value Teams are: Lely Consumables, with an emphasis on enhancement of the product portfolio including market introduction; Lely Processing, in which the focus is on enlargement of the market share as well as the strengthening of professionality product-wise; and last but not least, Lely Manure, where what we require is a full-blooded entrepreneur, with knowledge and interests relevant to the domain of manure and nitrogen, and capable of leading this start-up.
As the Business Lead Consumables, you will be responsible for realising greater exposure and impact for Lely's Consumables activities. Our market share and Lely's brand awareness in this field have massive growth potential among dairy farmers, and it is up to you and your team to make the most of that potential.
The value team is a matrix organisation, including experts from multiple departments; product managers, engineers, farm management specialists, as well as a marketeer. Deploying your experience in matrix organisations, it will be your role to make sure that your harmonious team functions like a well-oiled machine.
We are looking for an experienced senior manager with an instinctive feel for operational scope and decision-making authority. You have the ability and courage to make your own decisions, you can work autonomously and you are a natural leader. You can spot opportunities, take initiatives and make sure that you involve the right people at the right moment. Stakeholder management is your special forte. Your team includes consumables specialists, so you don't have to be one, however, we expect you to have sufficient market knowledge to spot commercial opportunities and to make the most of them. You are well informed on the themes that are important in this industry and aware of the risks that are associated with these products.
What is your experience?
You are commercially talented, you can spot opportunities in the market and you know how to make sure that Lely responds to them effectively. We are not looking for a salesman (sales proper are catered for by another department) but we are definitely looking for a distinct commercial touch. You are a people manager with the skills to help the experts in your Value Team to get the best out of themselves.
In addition, your background includes:
