What is your role?

Are you studying a Master in veterinary or animal science?  Would you like to know more about the impact of barn automation on cow health and well-being? Are you looking for a graduation assignment within an international environment? This is your opportunity to graduate at Lely!

The Discovery 120 Collector of Lely is a self-driving robot and vacuums manure in barns with solid floors. This not only makes for a cleaner floor, it also ensures the cows’ hooves remain cleaner. The purpose of this graduation assignment is to obtain more insights in the impact of the Lely Discovery collector on the incidence of infectious claw problems.

You will start with a literature research and collecting data from our customers and Lely Centers in Europe and North America. After analyzing all data you summarize your findings in concrete facts and numbers. What differences do you see between dairy farmers with a Discovery 120 Collector and farms that clean the barn in a different way? With the outcome of this research, Lely’s advisors will have more knowledge and data available to inform dairy farmers about the added value of the Lely Discovery 120 Collector.

You will be working in our Farm Management department, which is responsible for alignment of the product portfolio to the demands of the market. They fulfill a key role between the distribution channel, the support departments, production and the product development.

What is your experience?

With your critical mindset and analytical skills, you know how to extract the required information out of data. You are inquisitive and you do not mind to approach dairy farmers and other departments to collect all information you need.
