What is your role?

In this position, you and your (international) team are responsible for the daily monitoring, management and support of our digital services in a third-line position. This function is positioned in the Digital Operations Center (DOC), this team is operationally end-to-end responsible; from the PC on the farm, the Farm Management System (Lely Horizon) to the cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure.

Your activities:

You are HR-responsible for your team which includes recruitment, hiring, and performance management. Your team is responsible for providing third-line support on questions, problems, and bugs related to our digital products, such as Lely Horizon. Lely Horizon is the management system for modern dairy farming, in Lely Horizon all data is collected from the various Lely products that are active on the farm. Think for example of the milking-, feeding- and the manure robot.

You will guide and coach your international team of around 10 fte to secure execution, satisfaction, and happiness with the support of our digital products such as Lely Horizon. You report frequently about (repeating) support issues and challenges and collaborate with other teams within and outside the Digital Operations Center (DOC) extensively. You will participate in the Digital Farming Operational Management team and report directly to the manager of the Digital Operations Center.

You coach and guide your team in understanding the impact, scale, and priority of technical issues. When needed you act as incident manager and guide the team through critical matters. You have excellent stakeholder management skills to achieve the best results.

We are not looking for a corporate manager, we are looking for a good coach of a highly skilled and good-performing team, who can help the team grow even further, but... when required, is also able and willing to roll up the sleeves and work together with the team members into technical and complex issues, trying to solve them and if that’s not possible, translating the technical issues into clear requirements for our colleagues from Product Development (PD).

Since Lely is an international company, as a team lead, we want you to build and maintain great relationships with colleagues abroad, meaning you will occasionally visit Lely Product Development in Turkey (Istanbul), a Lely cluster, and/or a Lely center in one of the 40 countries where Lely operates.

About Lely’s Digital Operations Center (DOC)

The Digital Operations Center (DOC) is part of the business team Digital Farming and is responsible for the technical operations of Lely’s farm management software called Lely Horizon and other digital services and solutions. The DOC provides first-class third-level support with a strong customer focus, monitoring and reporting about the performance with innovative technology to ensure end-to-end secure, stable, and reliable digital services and solutions while aiming for 100% uptime. What is your experience?

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as team lead or people manager.
  • Extensive experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Great personality that always stays calm in stressful situations.
  • Good understanding of ITSM processes and preferably ITIL v4 certified.
  • Experience with IT Service Management Tooling is a pre.
  • Experience with building year roadmaps, planning, and reporting.
  • Fluent mastery level of English and Dutch (verbal and written).
