What is your role?

Are you an Engineer with knowledge about Maintenance strategies and policies? Do you have experience with the design of methods and procedures of maintenance? Do you have a hands-on mentality, and understand how our product runs in the field, but do you also easily connect with our R&D department to optimize the product development? Then this might be your new role!

Description of the role

Lely has an ambitious roadmap for the farm of the future. Key element of this roadmap is the availability of the robots in the field with 100% uptime. To reach this goal we not only have to develop our product design, but also develop our maintenance strategy to support our goals.

Our goal is to reduce the failures of our robots by understanding the root causes and preventing from failures. We want to be more predictive in our service. Therefore, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer Maintenance in our Technical Service Support team. You will be part of TSS Development, in which we are growing our development activities for the long run. The Senior Project Engineer Maintenance is there to safeguard and improve the performance of production resources. And among others responsible for:

  • Design maintenance strategies, methods, and procedures for the whole life cycle of our products. Develop procedures and standard ways of working in diagnosing breakdowns.
  • Implement the maintenance strategy into the organization (branch offices all over the world) together with the specialists of the product teams.
  • Improve data driven performance management by developing the framework to monitor and control maintenance costs and be able to predict the cost of service.
  • Connect with stakeholders in the organization and our field service operations, with the goal to improve maintenance on a strategic, tactical, and operational level. 
  • You are part of the partnership with TU/e (Eindhoven) on research on maintenance strategies. You will practically apply the (innovative) outcomes in the Lely environment.
  • Safeguard the health and safety policies and procedures within the maintenance domain.

What is your experience?

With your expertise in maintenance engineering, you bring in knowledge about the reliability centered maintenance approach (RCM) and experience in an international (complex) technical service organization. Furthermore:

  • You completed a degree in (mechanical/industrial) Engineering or Technical Business Administration or similar (Bachelor/University).
  • You already gained experience, at least 3 years, as a Maintenance Engineer or in a similar position.
  • You have proven experience with formulating maintenance policies on a strategic level.
  • The following terms hold no secrets to you: predictive maintenance, servitization, RCM, FMEA
  • You have systematic insight, organizational ability, and affinity with software.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and (project) leadership skills.
  • Affinity with the agricultural sector is a plus.
  • You are an EU-citizen and willing to relocate to The Netherlands if you don’t already live there.
