This week, Lely published the financial results for 2016. Especially because of low milk prices worldwide ensuing in falling sales figures, the company shows a fall in turnover as compared with 2015. The turnover came to € 502 million.

Lely Group in the Netherlands and German-based fodjan enter into a partnership aimed at accelerating developments in feeding software by 1 November 2016. Feeding is an essential factor of success for dairy farms as efficient feeding has a positive effect on both cow health and milk yield. Therefore Lely and fodjan have made intelligent feeding a key priority.

In version 17 of Farming Simulator, the farm simulation game, you can now run your farm with various Lely machines. Four machines for working the land and the Lely Astronaut milking robot for the barn have been added to the latest version of this popular game. Lely is thus following in the footsteps of some 40 brands whose agricultural machinery is already used in the game. The milking robot is a first.

Lely today introduced new software for its Lely Vector automatic feeding system that has been on the market since 2012. The new Lely T4C management software is smarter and much easier to use. It offers dairy and beef cattle farmers more insights and control over their feeding process and results. This helps them to increase the return on their feeding investments. Lely has redesigned the entire software based on user experience. Ration settings and analysis can be performed on a desktop PC, while a smartphone is used for operational management. This software is available for all existing and new Vector users.

Today Lely has informed its employees about its acquisition of the minority interest of Vermeer Corporation to obtain full ownership of the Wolfenbüttel factory. In addition, Lely announced at the occasion its intent to restructure the factory operations. As a result of challenging market circumstances and the need for a more efficient mode of operations, the ownership of the plant has changed and the size of its workforce will be adjusted in line with market demand.

Royal Reesink N.V. (“Royal Reesink”) and of Lely Holding S.ár.l (“Lely”) today completed the acquisition of Lely’s turfcare activities by Reesink in the UK, Ireland and Denmark. These activities mainly comprise the distribution of Toro machines for the maintenance of golf courses and public green spaces and TYM compact tractors (UK, IRE). These activities generated revenue of some € 60 million in 2015, with around 125 employees. Revenue has grown in the first half of 2016.
