Lely launches second edition of Feed the Future
Lely, the leading supplier of robotics and management systems for dairy farming, announces that applications for the Feed the Future Challenge 2021 are now open. The Feed the Future Challenge 2021 will be supported by Rockstart, global accelerator-VC, who will play a key role in scouting and selecting the startups to work with Lely. The 2021 edition, which calls on the next generation of tech pioneers to revolutionize the dairy industry with their technological solutions, comes after the two companies successfully collaborated to produce the first edition of the challenge in 2019. Startups can apply for the Feed the Future Challenge from March 3 to May 15, 2021. The winners will have the opportunity to run a pilot with Lely.

Lely introduces new milk sampling device
Milking robot manufacturer and barn automator Lely is bringing a new milk sampling device to the market, for use in combination with milking robots. The system called ‘Sampler for Lely Astronaut’ has no electronic parts and is remarkably easy to use and maintain.

Hot weather does not affect the quality of silage blocks
On behalf of Lely, the University of Milan conducted a study into the feed quality and heating of blocks of corn silage in a feed kitchen. During the days in which the study was carried out, the temperature was more than 30 ºC. However, the temperature of the corn blocks rose by only 2 ºC.

Cloud Connect now available for Juno & Discovery 120 Collector
During this year's Lely Future Farm Days in October a new data platform saw light: Lely Horizon. With the aim of connecting all Lely products to this platform, Lely now introduces Cloud Connect for the Juno feed pusher and Discovery 120 Collector manure robot. Cloud Connect provides users with more control over and insight into the performance of their Juno and Collector.

New feed grabber for the Lely Vector feeding system
Lely introduces a new feed grabber for the Lely Vector automatic feeding system. The feed grabber hangs in the feed kitchen and is used to load the mixing and feeding robot with an accuracy of up to 98%. The new design improves both the functionality and lifetime of the feed grabber bucket, and the maintenance costs.
