Inherd
CowLocator
Several receivers are mounted in the barn, which are in contact with the cows’ tags. The receivers in turn communicate with Lely T4C. In this way the Lely CowLocator shows the cows’ position with only a few clicks in InHerd, accurate to within 1 m.
InHerd Signals - device indications
Within Signals the device indications, or CRS call-outs, are now displayed. This means that when an attention is generated, the device and reason for the attention are displayed accordingly.
InHerd Cow
The ‘Milk Now’ and ‘Routing’ actions are often used in the ‘Cow’ tool. For this reason they have been reordered to the beginning of the options to increase user friendliness.
InHerd Cow - insemination
During insemination, the sire needs to be registered which is essential for good registration, follow-up and history. Within the ‘Insemination’ tab, a search bar has now been included so that the correct sire can be selected quickly and easily without leaving the app.
Vector
Vector - Definitions
To achieve synergy with the Lely Astronaut and for easy understanding, the names for Feed group and Feed location have changed.
Vector - Counter knife – fixed settings
Based on a chosen setting, the counter knife automatically determines when (built-up force), how long and how often it is (in)active.
Vector - Fixed loading, random loading and concentrates
A well-mixed and homogenous ration is what we aim for at all times. Using the new settings you can fine-tune this according to local circumstances.
Vector - Interrupted feeding by default
The Lely Vector continuously checks whether certain fences can be combined into one route to increase efficiency. To do this, it checks the last available scan data for the fences. If no other fences require fresh feed, the Vector increases the minimum feed height by 20% to check whether other fences do then require fresh feed.
Vector - Additional feed height
In the first instance, the Lely Vector automatically feeds according to the need; however, sometimes it may be the case that you temporarily want to increase or decrease the amount of feed at the fence. The additional feed height can be set via Lely T4C (Vector > Fence settings) and is valid for the time period entered, after which time it goes back to its default settings.
Vector - Dosing weight per feed fence
This setting is programmed in Lely T4C, where the exact amount of feed (kg) per fence can be set, thus increasing its capacity and improving user friendliness.
Vector - Time-out kitchen fill mode
The possibility of pausing the Lely Vector system already existed, for example for filling the feed kitchen or cleaning the feed alley. Thanks to the ‘Time-out kitchen fill mode’, the farmer receives a message after a set period of time to remind him or her that the Vector is still not operational.
T4C
T4C - Treatment plans
Whether a farm has one, four or sixteen milking robots, working according to standard operating procedures (SOP) or protocols is important and is becoming more and more the norm. Within Lely T4C 3.7 treatment plans, we now offer the possibility of using irregular treatment intervals, multiple medicines and actions such as ‘Insemination’.
T4C - Rumination activity
Rumination is a reliable indicator of cows’ well-being. Too much or too little rumination indicates that something is going on, meaning action is required. Starting with the T4C 3.7 update we are focusing more on changes to rumination activity compared to previous fixed levels.
T4C - Report 10 – Health Attentions
In Report 10 ‘Health attentions’, a new parameter has been introduced: ‘Fresh Cow Performance’. This compares the milk production of a cow to the group average with the same days in lactation.
T4C - Merging of Reports 13 and 14
Within the settings of the report you can select whether you want to see by default all failed milkings, or only failed milkings for which the cow did not have a successful milking afterwards, using the option: ‘Only show current failed milkings’.
T4C - Better insight in cow’s routing history
On the cowcard the ‘Feed visits’ tab has been renamed to ‘Visits’ and this tab now shows all the device visit’s for the cow and also the feed amount which she has eaten in case of Astronaut or Cosmix visit. This way it is in one overview clear when the cow visited a device and in which direction she was send.
T4C - The ‘Animal feeding’ tab on the cowcard show easier to understand value tittles.
- ‘Restfeed yesterday’ has been replaced with ‘Start credit(credit at midnight)’. This is the amount feed credit which the cow takes from yesterday to today.
- ‘Total today’ is replaced with ‘Programmed today’, but the values are still calculated from the feedtable. So there are no changes in the calculation of this value.
- ‘Available today’ is the SUM of the start credit + programmed today.
- ‘Total tomorrow’ has been replaced with ‘Eaten today’, this values shows the amount she has eaten since midnight.
T4C - ‘Block time’ settings for Cosmix access
To safeguard the cow’s health in case of higher amount’s of concentrates, with the risk of acidosis, overfeeding needs to be prevented. Now it is also possible to set ‘block times’ after milking to prevent a cow can get feed at the Cosmix after milking.
T4C - Rumination graph for QWES ISO Smart tags
In case of QWES ISO Smart tags the rumination values will be shown in the ‘Activity graph’ tab on the cowcard. These lines will be shown as the time distribution of the day (in percentage).
Meteor
Meteor App
Improving hoof health and thus enhancing animal well-being and farm economics are the most important goals of the Lely Meteor total approach. The combination of the automation tools, consumables and Farm Management knowledge makes Lely Meteor unique and successful in achieving optimal hoof health.
