Role: Farm Management Support

I am a qualified farm vet and joined Lely Center Devon & Cornwall after working in practice for over 9 years. The FMS role fitted my interest in dairy farming and being part of a company that develops products for a future where animal health and welfare, and environmental sustainability are important factors, was a key decision to join Lely.

Lely robots are continuously updated with new features when they become available. We take a holistic approach combining data, knowledge of software and technical innovations, farmers’ wishes, and the needs of the cattle on the farm. Happy healthy cows are always key to success.

In my role as a Farm Vet, I trained as a skills trainer and teacher, which is a good help when training farm staff to work with the robotic system. I see great benefits of involving the whole farming team; farmers, feed advisors and vets on farms and working together to solve issues or to finetune farms that run without problems.

Joined Lely Center Devon & Cornwall: March 2021

Role: Farm Management Support

I joined Lely Center Devon & Cornwall as Farm Management Support in 2021. I’m a local Cornish girl and, after completing my degree in Animal Science at Reading University, I returned home to be closer to the sea.

Prior to joining Lely, I spent 5 years working for Mole Valley Farmers, where I progressed as a nutritionist in the field working with local dairy farmers as well as gaining experience with customer service and ruminant compound formulating teams. Besides dairy cow rationing, I had CowSignals training as well as gaining a diploma in ruminant nutrition.

The variety of my role as FMS at Lely Center Devon & Cornwall means I am never bored, and I am really enjoying being back out in the field and seeing some familiar faces as well as meeting new ones.
