We're excited to announce that we're holding an Open Day on 29th October, by kind permission of the Ward family.

“Investing in two Lely Astronaut A5 robotic milking systems and a Juno feed pusher has helped us to increase yield, improve herd health and welfare, and for us, have a life.” Simon Ward.

Simon and Aly with son Ben are tenant farmers at a commercial dairy unit near Wadebridge, Cornwall. Currently they milk a high output 365 cow herd split between a new shed with two Lely Astronaut A5 milking robots, with the remaining animals milked through the old parlour and out to graze. They also benefit from two Luna cow brushes, a Juno Flex feed pusher and Discovery 90S barn scraper.

After considerable time planning their first shed and robots to best suit cows for high production, they are also now considering further Astronauts for the remainder of the herd.

The Ward’s will discuss their new barn considerations when transitioning from old shed to new, how they manage their high yielding cows as well as other factors that impact the business and the families’ future plans.

This one-day event will take place from 10.30am Entry 11.00am Start – 3.00pm Finish with talks by Merryn Cowls from our Farm Management Support team and our Project Coordinator Darren Coventry as well as presentations from 3rd party suppliers and consultants.

Enjoy a complimentary lunch! Places are limited so please book your place now!

Our solutions

All of our products complement each other

Milking

Producing high-quality milk requires time and care. It requires healthy and happy cows. It requires making the right choices. Choices that fit in with you and your goals. Our solutions for automatic milking help you make the right decisions for attaining these goals.

Feeding

Efficient feeding has a positive effect on cow health and milk yield. Mixing the right portions in the right quantities and releasing them just at the right moment requires knowledge, understanding and time. Our products for automatic feeding take on this task and are exceptionally efficient. Saving you time and ensuring the right feed at the right moment.

Housing and caring

An animal-friendly and productive environment contributes to optimal cow health and well-being. It also lengthens the lactation cycle. By choosing the best and most comfortable design for the barn with the right resources, you not only improve cow health. Milk yield also increases and costs go down.

Animal health

Healthy cows are crucial for every dairy farm. A healthy herd contributes to a healthy business. Animal health is a combination of stress-free cows that have enough space and can behave naturally. Also a healthy rumination contributes to the total cow health reducing the risk of diseases and infection.

Large Farming

For dairy farms, competitiveness and responsibility starts behind the barn doors. Lely supports these farms in their ambitions and acts as a link between automation and growth. A cooperation that ensues in a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future.

Farm Management

Our customer’s data is all over the farm and spread over many parties that visit the farm, supply the farm, or collect from the farm. A digital eco system is emerging and taking from where the voice of our customer will determine the future direction. New sensors, powerful algorithms, artificial intelligence, miniature computers; everything gets connected.
