Drying off cows Webinar - 17th December at 8pm
Christian Von Teichman from Ashford in Co Wicklow installed Lely robots over 11 years ago. Due to the information he can get on both cell count and conductivity from the robots, he has been practicing selective dry cow therapy for the past eight years. Across 100 cows that are being dried off, he is on target to use only 35 antibiotic tubes, with many cows only receiving an antibiotic tube in a single problem quarter, with the remainder of the quarters receiving sealer only. His cell count for the past few years has been under 100,000.
As part of the webinar Christian and Jordan Molloy of Lely Center Kilkenny will go through how they use the information available to choose individual quarters for selective dry cow therapy.
