Your feeding strategy has a significant impact on your results

Frequent feed pushing, throughout the day and night, stimulates the dry matter intake of the herd. This optimises rumen health, feed efficiency and productivity. By automating this recurring work, the Lely Juno makes your life easier and makes your day more flexible, your production more efficient and your business more successful.

Labour saving

Labour is a limiting factor in keeping the feed in reach of your cows. Based on three feed pushing rounds of 10 minutes a day, an automatic feed pusher will save you at least 180 hours a year. This is more than a monthly wage of a FTE per year.

Optimal feed intake

When you feed with a feed wagon, feeding 2 to 3 times a day achieves the optimal balance between the amount of work and an optimal feed intake. This means that you have to push the feed 6 to 8 times per day.

More flexibility

By automating the repetitive work this does not interrupt your day. Allowing you to time to focus on Grassland management, the breeding side of herd management, or tinkering with cow rations and optimising the feed conversion efficiency.

Increasing numbers of farmers are investigating how automated feed pushing with the Lely Juno can benefit them and their businesses. CLICK HERE to find out the answers to some of the questions most frequently asked about the Lely Juno.

“If we hadn’t invested in the Juno, then we would have been pushing feed up at least three 3 a day with a front-end loader and tyres. I anticipate it would have taken an hour each day, and cost us in fuel and depreciation. However, it’s one of those jobs that simply wouldn’t have got done in the evening and through the night, and again, it’s back to consistent management."

Ben Rabb, York, North Yorkshire

"On dairy farms I work with, I saw that a Lely Juno was giving at least an additional litre per cow, per day. I know from experience that feed pushing is always the last task on anyone’s list and as soon as anything unexpected happens or we’re short of staff, it’s the first thing to be dropped. I didn’t want that to happen, so I knew I needed to do it robotically,"

Rob Drysdale, Somerset

"We were pushing the TMR with a fork lift 4 or 5 times a day. It was costing us over one hour of labour plus fuel and wear and tear, and we weren’t being consistent; it was a job we easily forgot about...Now the robot is programmed to push up the feed every 60 minutes, 21 times a day. It stops for just three hours in the morning...the Lely Juno is the greatest piece of kit on the farm."

Working for you day and night

The Lely Juno moves along the feeding alley automatically, following the feed fence. The ground driven, rotating surface on the lower part of the machine pushes the roughage towards the feed fence. A heavy steel block forms the ‘body’ of the feed pusher, ensuring that the machine has sufficient mass to push the fodder.

Metal guiding strips

The Lely Juno uses an induction sensor to follow metal guiding strips when driving towards the charging station and, if needed, to other barns

Ultrasound sensors

The Lely Juno uses ultrasound sensors to follow walls and feed fences at the desired distance without changing the route

Cleaning route

The Juno can also clean the feeding alley before feeding time. A cleaning route starts on the outside of the feed alley and pushes everything towards the feed fence

Lely Control Plus

The Lely Juno can be easily controlled with the Lely Control Plus app, which uses a Bluetooth connection. You can operate the automatic feed pusher from one or more mobile devices.

The Lely Control Plus app is the new generation of the Lely Control app and boasts enhanced user friendliness. Creating and adjusting a route can be done easily using predefined actions, and you can steer the Juno using just your finger on the screen.

The Luna cow brush is designed to pamper and take care for your cows. Brushing not only improves blood circulation but also cleans any dust or dirt from the skin. More importantly brushing is relaxing for the cows and they can happily choose when they want to be brushed throughout the day.
