With the launch of the Lely Astronaut A5 earlier this year, our milking robot stepped up in terms of ease of use and uptime. Easy maintenance was key during the development of the milking robot as well as a user-friendly interface to manage the machine.

‘The Astronaut A4 is a very efficient and excellent performing robot. The A5 is a step above that,’ says Kevin Bender, Product Specialist Lely North America. He emphasizes the ease of maintenance for the service technician, which is confirmed by Melle Plat, Product Specialist Lely Center Heerenveen (the Netherlands). ‘We have actually had very few problems even at the start up stage,’ adds Melle.
Thanks to the large central unit, the heart of the robot is easily accessible. ‘You can almost walk in to it,’ says Frank Jensen, Service technician Lely Center Tarm (Denmark). Service technicians can do their jobs and maintain the milking robot without the help of their Lely Center.
A smooth and silent working milking robot bringing less alarms, less calls and maximum uptime. Not only resulting in more time to spend on other activities on the farm, but also delivering more milk in the tank and improved farm results.

Alexander van der Lely to become chairman of the Supervisory Board,
André van Troost appointed as new CEO of Lely
Maassluis, 2 September 2019 – An important change will take place in the management of Dutch family business Lely in the coming months. From January 1, the current CEO, Alexander van der Lely, will become the chairman of a newly formed Supervisory Board for Lely. This Supervisory Board must ensure that Lely remains a healthy family business. The current Vice President Customer Care, André van Troost, is appointed as new CEO of the Lely Group as of 1 January 2020. The Executive Board team remains unchanged.
