Precision farming made easy

Starting this month the specialists of Lely and CowSignals Training Company go to the farms to provide advice on the optimal conduct of their productive dairy. In this training the book 'Feeding Signals', which was recently presented at Agritechnica, is key. Feeding Signals is a unique collaboration between Lely and the authors of the book, Jan Hulsen and Dries Aerden .

The correct feeding of dairy cattle is an important success factor on the dairy farm. If feeding is successful this ensures both feed efficiency and high milk production. With the book Feeding Signals and the training, participants learn to read the "signals" of cows surrounding the feeding process and get practical advice to improve production, health and welfare.

Alexander van der Lely, CEO of the Lely Group had the pleasure to receive the first book last month at Lely’s stand at the Agritechnica in Hannover. He stated that the book is a good addition to Lely’s range of products and services, especially since feed efficiency was also the central theme at the biennial Fair.

Dairy farmers can obtain the book Feeding Signals through their Lely Center or through their dealer of Lely grassland machines or purchase it when they participate in a training.

Lely On the Road

Besides the book, Lely and CowSignals Training Company will set off to give worldwide training sessions during the so-called ‘Lely on the Road'. The workshops and lectures begin in early December in Germany and extend throughout the year 2014 to the rest of the world. The book will be available in 13 different languages from the spring of 2014. For more information about Lely on the Road please click here.
