At Lely, sustainability and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. Our robots, including the renowned Lely Astronaut, are designed to revolutionise dairy farming. With cleaning systems playing a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency, this internship offers you a chance to explore and optimise how cleaning chemicals interact with our materials.

As an intern, you will:

Investigate why and when material compatibility tests are essential.
Compare cleaning chemistries using a standardised test setup.
Assess the impact of cleaning chemicals on the materials of our robots.
Develop a test plan, including designing experiments.
Build a test setup in our workshop and execute tests.
Analyse results and present findings with actionable recommendations.

By the end of your internship, you will provide:

Experimental test results.
A detailed report with conclusions and recommendations regarding material compatibility.
A final presentation featuring graphs, data analysis, and your proposed solutions.

Is pursuing a degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
Has an affinity for hands-on work, including setting up and executing experiments.
Is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn.
Communicates effectively and can present findings clearly.
