Morton Farms-
- 2 Lely A5 Astronauts
Third generation dairyman Justin Morton knew he wanted to be a farmer since he was
a toddler being pushed through the barn in a stroller. He started milking cows when he
was barely old enough to walk, learning the finer points of dairy life from his father, a
successful dairyman himself. When Justin’s father passed in 2014 Justin took over day to
day operations of the Evansville, Wisconsin dairy, focusing on expansion, animal health
and systematic improvements to the facility.
In early 2022, with the help of his local Lely center , Justin made the decision to make a switch to robotics in their double-8 parlor where they were milking twice a day. On November 4th of that same year, they began milking their herd on two Lely Astronaut A5 robotic milking systems, allowing Justin and his family to focus on other aspects of the dairy. They have since seen an average increase of five pounds of milk per cow.
