A great functionality to optimise cow touches is automatic routing, which automatically routes the cows to the right place at the time you want, e.g. for hoof care and insemination. Horizon’s task-based way of working results in a more efficient way of farming by establishing clear routines, freeing up more time for other activities.
You might like hoof care to be carried out regularly every Wednesday afternoon. The criteria for the setup in Horizon might be as follows: all cows in lactation between 60-70 days and cows that are about to dry off need a hoof check. Lely Horizon ensures these cows are separated when the task needs to be performed. Additionally, cows with acute hoof issues can be manually added to this list.
Horizon identifies the cows that are in heat and gives a signal when a cow in heat is detected and there is potential for insemination. These cows can then be separated according to a range of criteria (e.g. activity). The task pops up during your shift in the afternoon.
