Lely Roadshow

Surge is an energy company specialised in helping regional farms and businesses take control of their energy. The company designs, engineers, installs and manages an integrated smart energy system that delivers lower cost, and one simple bill for farmers across Australia.

Powering the Robotic Dairy: Energy Certainty for Lely Farms

A Lely robotic dairy never stops. Robots, vacuum pumps, milk cooling, feed systems and ventilation draw power 24/7 - making energy both the most critical input on the farm and one of its largest controllable costs.

That flat, round-the-clock load is the ideal profile for on-site solar and storage. Surge Embedded Energy as a Service designs, funds, installs, owns and operates a solar, battery and control system behind your meter, sized to your actual load. You invest no capital — your money stays in cows, robots and land — and simply buy the energy produced at a rate below your current tariff.

The result:

• Day-one savings and price certainty — positive cashflow from the first month, with protection from tariff rises, demand charges and wholesale volatility.
• Reliability that protects milk in the vat — batteries and smart controls keep robots, cooling, vacuum and water running through outages, so fewer missed milkings and less discarded milk.
• Headroom to grow — capacity built in for the next robot, more cooling, or electrified hot water and vehicles, without a network upgrade conversation.
• Fully managed — Surge carries the performance risk, including monitoring, maintenance, insurance and compliance. One point of accountability, no new technology to learn.
• Verified sustainability outcomes — measurable, reportable emissions reduction for processor and supply-chain programs.

Surge Embedded EaaS — your robots run on sunshine, certainty and someone else's capital.
