Technical Support Specialist (TSS) – Dairy Automation

What is your role?
As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be a key member of Lely Australia’s support team, providing advanced technical expertise to our Lely Center network and dairy farming customers across Australia and New Zealand. You will support the performance of Lely’s cutting-edge automation systems, especially the Lely Astronaut robotic milking solution, ensuring reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement.
This role is an excellent progression opportunity for an experienced dairy technician who is ready to move into a more specialized, high-impact support role with broader exposure and responsibility.
- Provide second-line technical support for Lely automation and milking systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues escalated by field technicians.
- Deliver clear, timely support and solutions across the Lely Center dealer network.
- Collaborate with global product experts and R&D to drive continuous improvement.
- Assist in training and upskilling technicians and advisors across Australia and New Zealand.
- Ensure all service support adheres to Lely’s high standards of quality and performance.

Who are you?
You are an experienced dairy or agricultural technician who understands the day-to-day realities of dairy farming and has hands-on experience working with milking systems or automation technology. You are now looking to take the next step in your career supporting a wider network, tackling more complex technical challenges, and contributing to innovation in dairy automation.
You bring:
- Hands-on experience as a dairy technician, ideally in robotic milking, conventional milking systems, or dairy automation.
- Strong understanding of dairy farm operations, herd routines, and the needs of farmers.
- Proven technical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability, both in the field and remotely.
- Excellent communication skills, able to support, coach, and guide Lely Center technicians.
- A collaborative approach, comfortable managing complex cases and escalating when required.
- Flexibility for participation in an on-call support roster.
- Willingness to travel for on-site support and training (state, interstate, and international).
