The history of Lely
Heritage
Innovative solutions for dairy farming since 1948
Our journey began in the years after World War II, when Cornelis and Arij van der Lely set out to make farmers’ lives easier. With the invention of the Lely Acrobat, they introduced a simple yet groundbreaking solution that marked the start of mechanisation. Since then, we have pioneered robotisation and embraced digitalisation — always with the ambition to make farming more sustainable, enjoyable and profitable.
