Denis & Kevin Mulcahy are farming in partnership just outside Monagea in Co.Limerick Which is 10 minutes from Newcastle West.
The open day will be a discussion about how Denis and Kevin switched their herd to automatic milking and ABC grazing.
The Mulcahy’s made the switch in October 2019 and have never looked back. Moving from milking 5 hours/day in an 8-unit milking parlour to producing 485,000 litres on a single robot. Denis & Kevin have seen improvements in production, herd health and genetics maximising their time and using the information from Lely’s award-winning management software Horizon. They have also seen a huge improvement in lifestyle with more free time, while Kevin holds down a full-time job as an engineer, he has greater levels of free time and flexibility with his Lely Astronaut.
