Maassluis, May 15 2024 - Today the 50,000th Astronaut was handed over to its new owner at the Balmoral Show in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. John Henning OBE, 37th president of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society, was present to celebrate this momentous milestone. Since its commercial introduction in 1995, the Astronaut has revolutionized dairy farming. Currently the Astronaut milking robots milk over 2.500.000 cows daily in over 50 countries worldwide.

Lely is pleased to announce its partnership with Acorn. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions, the company will take responsibility for all emissions from its own operations in 2023. With the purchase of the Carbon Removal Units, Lely is offsetting around 7,200 tonnes of CO2 equivalents. By doing so, the family-owned company also gives a positive impetus to making agriculture more sustainable and the Carbon Removal Units generate an additional income stream for small-scale farmers.

Lely introduces the next generation of Lely Juno, the automated feed pushing solution. The first generation Juno was launched in 2008. Over the years the model has been optimized with new benefits to take it to a next level. In the meanwhile the Lely Juno has become market leader within the feed pushing market with an installed base of more than 14,000 Juno’s in 45 countries all over the world. The past learnings have been used to further optimize the current introduced Juno model with the main goal to lower the running costs for the end users.
