Maassluis, 29 August 2018 – Lely today unveiled an innovative system to process milk on the farm, called the Lely Orbiter. This new automatic processor works 24/7 and has been designed with the highest food safety standards in mind. The system processes milk directly from the milking robots to the bottle. The Lely Orbiter concept offers new opportunities for farmers to market their own milk, support their sustainable future and to meet the demands of today’s increasingly discerning consumers.

At the Lely Future Farm Days, held at their head office in The Netherlands, Lely introduced a new milestone in milking: the Lely Astronaut A5. Observation of cow-machine interaction and feedback from many farmers has led to the creation of a system that combines proven automatic milking principles with unmatched reliability, ease of use and cost efficiency. The new A5 milking robot means stress-free milking for both the farmer and their cows.
At the Lely Future Farm Days, Lely announces the latest innovation in automatic feed pushing: a greatly enhanced Lely Juno. Thanks to the Juno, Lely has gained over 10 years of experience in automatic feed pushing, and six years with the Vector automatic feeding system. All of this knowledge has been harnessed to ensure this third-generation Juno is easier to implement in all kinds of barn situations, easier to operate and capable of pushing feed in multiple barns across the farm. All Lely innovations focus on the cow as the central point. By using smart technology, the new Juno ensures there is always clean feed for each individual cow, and that a positive effect on animal health, fertility and production yields financial results.

In 2017 Lely strengthened its basis for a leading role in robotics and farm management for the dairy farm
2017 was again a special year for Lely. Following the sale and transfer in October of the Forage activities to the American AGCO, the company's focus is fully on the future in robotics and farm management. Among other things, the celebration of 25 years of robot milking worldwide created a new élan within the organisation. In 2017, Lely therefore experienced growth of the order portfolio, as well as an increase in the market share in dairy automation. The turnover in 2017 amounted to 506 million euros. Robotics and farm management showed a strong growth of 12%, with a clear acceleration in the second half of the year compared to 2016. A significant contribution to this growth was made by North America and Japan, followed by Western Europe.
