Lely installs ‘Commodity feeder’ on every new Lely Astronaut A5

Lely has standardised the installation of the 'Commodity feeder' on the Lely Astronaut milking robot, which makes it possible to feed non-pelleted feed. Two years ago, the Commodity feeder was introduced as an option and it is currently used by hundreds robotic milkers worldwide.

Lely reports solid growth in 2020

An excellent performance in a dynamic and challenging year

Despite COVID-19, 2020 was another strong year for Lely with record-breaking sales of € 615 million (€ 606 million in 2019). This growth in turnover is a result of the continuously increasing worldwide adoption of dairy automation. Next to the established markets in Europe and North America, additional growth came from Asia and Latin America. Main driver behind this strong development was the success of the robotic products, especially the Lely Astronaut A5 milking robot. Next to milking, ever increasing numbers of farmers are now also investing in Lely’s robotic feeding and manure handling solutions. Furthermore, a growing base of installed robots also resulted in strong sales growth of consumables and services.

Lely produces 1,000th Vector automatic feeding system

Lely produced the 1000th Vector feeding system today. A special milestone, as they have doubled production in the past three years. The Vector feeding system is now used in 31 countries on a wide variety of dairy and beef cattle farms. The 1000th Vector is on its way to Società Agricola Rendena San Michele's dairy farm in Italy, to feed a herd of 117 to 130 lactating cows plus associated young stock, heifers and dry cows.

Hot weather does not affect the quality of silage blocks

On behalf of Lely, the University of Milan conducted a study into the feed quality and heating of blocks of corn silage in a feed kitchen. During the days in which the study was carried out, the temperature was more than 30 ºC. However, the temperature of the corn blocks rose by only 2 ºC.

Cloud Connect now available for Juno & Discovery 120 Collector

During this year's Lely Future Farm Days in October a new data platform saw light: Lely Horizon. With the aim of connecting all Lely products to this platform, Lely now introduces Cloud Connect for the Juno feed pusher and Discovery 120 Collector manure robot. Cloud Connect provides users with more control over and insight into the performance of their Juno and Collector.
