Lely Sphere offers Flemish dairy farmers sustainable outlooks for the future

Lely Sphere admitted to list of ammonia emission-reducing housing technologies

Maassluis, 29 July 2025 – Lely Sphere has been officially admitted to the AER list: the list of ammonia emission-reducing technologies for Flemish dairy farmers. The decision of the Flemish government was announced yesterday. Thanks to the Flemish government's confidence in innovation as a contribution to making the agricultural sector more sustainable, dairy farmers can take concrete steps towards the future with the circular housing system Lely Sphere.

Making dairy farming more sustainable
Now that the Lely Sphere is on the AER list (Dutch only), dairy farmers can apply the reduction percentage – up to an average of 77% ammonia emission reduction in the barn – to comply with their PAS reference for 2030. This PAS reference can be seen as an emission ceiling that every farm must have achieved by 31 December 2030 at the latest. In addition, Flemish dairy farmers can now apply for financial support from the Flemish government: they can apply for VLIF support of up to 80% to implement the ammonia emission-reducing innovation on their farm.

Lely Sphere
Lely Sphere is a circular housing system that enables farmers to produce their own fertiliser substitute and reduce nitrogen emissions on their farm. The system can therefore contribute to the circularity of dairy farming. Lely Sphere separates manure streams and captures ammonia, which is converted into circular fertiliser. This circular fertiliser can be used together with faeces and urine for precision fertilisation and contributes directly to circularity on the farm.

Lely introduces the Vector MFR Next: less work, more results

Maassluis, 18 March 2025 – Lely has launched the Vector MFR Next, the new mixing and feeding robot that takes robotic precision feeding to a higher level. The Vector MFR Next has a strong drive line and a frame with a loading capacity of up to 800kg. This provides a 35% increase in feed loading capacity compared to the previous generation, increasing the suitability for more farms. Front and rear lights provide extra visibility. The Vector provides dairy farmers with a versatile mixing and feeding solution to optimise their feeding strategy and save substantially on labour. With this new robot, the Vector MFR Next takes Lely another step further towards the Farm of the Future.
