Sales Representative

Responsibilities include: 

  • Growing the adoption and market share of Lely’s full product portfolio and services and increasing the use of robotics
  • Engaging customers in a long-term relationship with high-quality service and advice
  • Creating and developing a dedicated team with the right knowledge and skills to become a professional and sustainable partner for farmers

The Lely Center Sales Advisor:

  • Works closely with the Lely Center Sales Advisor, Sales Manager, Project Coordinator, (Senior) Marketing Specialist, (Senior) FMS Advisor and Business Support Team.
  • Interacts regularly with Cluster Customer Solutions department.

Purpose of the Roll:

The Lely Center Sales Advisor is responsible for the sales and promotion of Lely's full portfolio of solutions within a focused area. Attracts and connects with future/potential customers in the assigned area to gain trust, build relationships, evaluate needs and present Lely solutions and services. Achieves maximum adoption and focus on full market potential through these commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer interaction & satisfaction

  • Finds and visits new potential customers in the area to gain trust, build relationships, assess needs and present Lely solutions and services. Visits customers regularly, identifies cross and up-sell activities for further engagement of existing customers and builds long-term relationships.
  • Maintains regular contact with potential customers, advises about new developments, products and product improvements. Responsible for quotations, determines the pricing of projects and actively negotiates with the farmer on price, deadlines and quantities. Makes use of the sales and service agreements provided by Lely Cluster.
  • Organizes Lely Journey trips, knowledge sessions, farm visits and other customer events with existing and potential customers to generate leads and maintain customer loyalty in close cooperation with the Sales Manager and Marketing Specialist. Sales Strategy & Development
  • Has responsibility for the creation of the sales funnel by full utilisation of the CRM tool provided by Lely to generate sales, focusing on the full potential in the area. Keeps the CRM application up to date with the registration of all commercial activities to maintain the offer and sales funnel

Sales Strategy & Development:

  • Has responsibility for the creation of the sales funnel by full utilisation of the CRM tool provided by Lely to generate sales, focusing on the full potential in the area.   • Has a good understanding of customer segmentation in the assigned area, market trends and developments, activities of competitors.
  • Sells and promotes Lely products and services based on the needs of the farmer, future plans for the farm, goals, priorities, barn equipment, routing etc. Uses this information to advise the customer about the best Lely solution for their situation. Successfully closes the sale to the benefit and satisfaction of both parties.
  • Participates in operational marketing campaigns: trade events, field promotional operations/place of sale, mailing, e-mailing, couponing, phoning. Generates new sales leads via cold calling, acquisition, online activities, farm visits, follow up database from local organizations.
  • Delivers input on annual sales plan to the Sales Manager. Ensures sales targets are achieved by the end of the year.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Builds and maintains a network of relevant relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and other parties within the assigned area.
  • Informs and hands over the customer to the Project Coordinator during and after the sales process.
