As an Embedded Software Engineer, you love Linux based Operating Systems. You will be part of a team of embedded software engineers who are developing our Linux based Robotic Platform. In the future we want to extend that to multiple components. Beside your technical skills you will cooperate closely with other engineers of Electronics and Robotic Applications. Together focusing on continuously improving our (software) development practices and our products.
Your main responsibilities
Team Interaction:
- Be part of a platform development team of 6 engineers
- Ensure an effective cooperation with our development partners in Europe.
Technical contribution:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Linux-based platform.
- Work on configuring, integrating, and debugging the Linux kernel and userspace components.
- Participate in improving software reliability, performance, and security.
- Support integration of new hardware platforms (e.g., ARM and x86 architectures).
Agile Practices:
- Worked in teams that used Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging yourself and colleagues to learn, adapt, and enhance their processes.
Wat is jouw ervaring?
We are looking for an empathetic and trustworthy professional. Someone with a keen awareness of the working environment and with good communication skills. You will also need to fulfil the following requirements.
- A completed course or study at higher vocational or university level.
- At least two years of experience with Linux based Operating Systems.
- Experience with Linux kernel development, including configuring, building, and debugging the kernel.
- Knowledge of hardware architectures (e.g., x86, ARM) and their impact on kernel development.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Makefile, Python, C, C++.
- Knowledge of object-oriented software and test-driven development (TDD).
- Knowledge of networks and protocols, such as CAN or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with working with multidisciplinary Agile teams.
- A critical, and constructive attitude to handle the dynamics of an innovative business.

What can you expect in your role as a Embedded Software Engineer?
- Working in an international work environment within one of the most innovative organizations in the Netherlands and also the largest robot producer in Europe.
- Excellent employment conditions, including up to 8 weeks of vacation.
- A full-time salary scale:
For junior engineers: between €3,900 and €5,000 gross per month.
For medior engineers: between €4,700 and €6,000 gross per month.
For senior engineers: between €5,500 and €7,100 gross per month.
