Wat is jouw rol?

As an Embedded Software Engineer Microcontrollers, you contribute to the intelligence at the core of our robotic and connected products. You develop firmware that directly controls actuators, interprets sensor data, and enables reliable communication between systems.

You work on microcontroller-based platforms where real-time performance, robustness, and efficiency are essential. From designing low-level control logic to integrating communication protocols such as BLE, your work has a direct impact on how our robots move, sense, and interact.

In this role, you collaborate closely with hardware, electronics, and mechanical engineers. Together, you define interfaces, refine system requirements, and ensure seamless integration between software and hardware. You are involved throughout the product lifecycle, from early prototypes to validation and release.

Your main responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and testing embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems with a focus on real-time performance and reliability.
  • Developing and optimizing control logic for motors, actuators, and sensor-driven systems.
  • Integrating wired and wireless communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
  • Contributing to system architecture discussions and translating functional requirements into robust firmware solutions.
  • Ensuring software quality through structured development practices such as code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Supporting the product lifecycle from prototype to validation and release.

Wat is jouw ervaring?

You enjoy working close to the hardware and are motivated by making systems move, respond, and perform reliably. You combine analytical thinking with a practical, hands-on mindset and like collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.

You bring:

  • A background in Embedded Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Around 2–5 years of experience in embedded development (for junior profiles, internships or graduation projects also count).
  • Solid experience with C and/or C++ in microcontroller environments (e.g., ARM Cortex-M).
  • Familiarity with RTOS-based or bare-metal development.
  • Experience working with common embedded communication protocols (such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, BLE).
  • Basic knowledge of debugging tools such as JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, or oscilloscopes.

Experience with motor control, BLE stacks, IoT concepts (low-power strategies, OTA updates), Nordic microcontrollers, or automated test setups is a plus, but not a requirement. If you are eager to grow into these areas, we encourage you to apply.
