Wat is jouw rol?
Do you find it a challenge to apply your technical knowledge in an environment where you can make a direct impact for our customers and technicians? And do you enjoy a dynamic environment where no day has to be the same? Then this is the job for you! As a (Junior) Solutions Engineer, you help your colleagues all over the world with solving the most complex technical (customer) issues and work closely with colleagues from Product Development and Proposition Management to realise structural solutions.
Milking
Lely offers highly innovative solutions for livestock farmers, such as the milking robot, automatic feeding systems and technical tools for animal health. Our team is responsible for the solutions that fall within the Milking portfolio. This means that we spend most of our time on our milking robot, the ‘Astronaut’.
Your responsibilities:
- You solve complex technical problems that a technician and the regional clusters have not been able to resolve. This includes a wide range of technical issues, with extra focus on the hardware in our products and the associated consumables for the robot, such as care or cleaning products. You work on tickets in our service portal and, after a thorough onboarding period, will also participate in our 24/7 hotline support.
- You are jointly responsible for the development of knowledge and expertise at the various Lely locations worldwide. We do this as a team by developing documentation, training and uniform tools.
- Within Lely, our team is the voice of the farmer and technician for the further development of the hardware, software and electronics in the robot. We carry out data analyses, identify trends in the field that are important for the improvement and further development of the milking robot and maintain contact with the different regions in which Lely operates. In addition to the operational core activities, you will also focus on improving processes.
- Through defining principles and performing validation, we ensure that new solutions meet the high standards of a Lely product. To achieve this, we work together with colleagues from, among others, Product Development and Proposition Management. You are the point of contact for, and actively participate in, various projects to make this happen.
Wat is jouw ervaring?
You are a specialist and understand how our solutions are built. You keep asking questions until you get to the core of the issue and you proactively look – either by yourself or together with colleagues, such as the designers of a solution – for the correct answer. “It can’t be done” or “that’s not possible” are not acceptable answers to you.
Your profile:
- You have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering or mechatronics.
- You are ready for the first step in your career or have at least 2–3 years of experience in a technical role (for example as an engineer), in which you have gained experience with process improvement and/or working on a project basis.
- In addition to the technology of your own discipline, you also enjoy gaining knowledge of other technical fields such as (embedded) software, hardware and electrical engineering – as well as topics like process optimisation.
- You easily connect with colleagues and customers.
- You are determined to make sure the voice of the technician and the farmer is heard within the organisation. You can clearly and convincingly represent their interests and are not discouraged by resistance or setbacks.
- You are able to organise your own work, set priorities and enjoy diving deep into the subject matter to come up with solutions.
- Given the international nature of this role, a good command of the English language, both spoken and written, is required. You also enjoy travelling internationally for part of your time.
- You have an affinity with dairy farming – perhaps you are even the son or daughter of a farmer.
