Technical Service Specialist

What is your role?
Within Technical Service Support, you work on technical challenges that look beyond today. In the Long Term Impact team, you focus on long-term projects that contribute to the further development of our Milking portfolio, in particular the Lely Astronaut. You ensure that service, maintenance, and availability are considered from the very start in design and development decisions.
Technical Service Support acts as the link between hands-on field experience and product development. By combining insights from service, data, and actual use, we ensure that our solutions remain reliable, maintainable, and scalable worldwide throughout their entire lifecycle.
In this role, you work at the intersection of technology, service, and product development. You do not build products yourself, but you have a direct influence on how our milking robots are designed, improved, and supported globally.
Your main responsibilities:
- Working on long-term technical and product-focused projects within the Milking portfolio, with a focus on the Lely Astronaut.
- Representing the service and lifecycle perspective within multidisciplinary product and project teams.
- Ensuring that maintainability, availability, and service standards are embedded in product development and innovations.
- Defining and substantiating service requirements for new solutions and product improvements.
- Analyzing data, field feedback, and service insights to support structural improvements.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of global maintenance and service standards.
What is your experience?
To be successful in this role, you combine technical knowledge with strong analytical skills and effective stakeholder management. You enjoy working with different disciplines and are able to translate service and practical insights into improvements in product development.
In addition, you bring:
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Several years of work experience in a technical or technical-organizational environment.
- Affinity with complex technical systems and the full product lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working.
- Good communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Good command of the English language due to the international nature of the role.
- Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
