NEW Discovery Collector

more driving capacity and wireless charging

Discovery Collector C2 has a new lithium battery that is charged through a wireless charging station. The wireless charging station ensures that the Discovery Collector C2 is charged faster and can start its routes earlier for a clean barn environment. As a result, the Discovery Collector C2 is driving 60% of the time and charging 40% and can clean barns with up to 120 cows. More frequent driving means more manure is collected. This ensures a clean barn floor which contributes to clean hooves, less manure in the barn and clean udders.

A cleaner barn floor results in cleaner hooves

The Discovery Collector C2 is specifically designed for barns with (semi) solid floors and takes a revolutionary diverse approach when compared to traditional manure scrapers. The Discovery Collector C2 does not push manure but vacuums it. This makes the build-up of manure – in which cows stand – a thing of the past. This not only makes for a cleaner floor, it also ensures the cows’ hooves remain cleaner. This improves both cow health and the well-being of the animals.

A comfortable experience for the cows

The cows – and yourself – will experience little to no hindrance from the Discovery Collector C2. The machine does not require cables or gutters. This ensures a more secure living environment for the cows. Thanks to its compact design the Discovery Collector C2 can easily navigate between the cows, the sorting gates, and around the cubicle passages and waiting area.

Water for added results and increased safety

Cows are more likely to display their natural behaviour in a clean environment. As a result, heat is detected sooner. The Discovery Collector C2 sprays water from the front and back of the machine. Spraying from the front results in better manure intake, and from the back leaving behind a wet floor for additional grip. Maximum result and safety.

Flexible cleaning

The daily routine of scraping manure is a thing of the past with the Discovery Collector C2. The routes and cleaning frequency can be set to match your own, or the cows’ daily rhythm to make things as hassle-free as possible. And if you would like to adjust the program, for whatever reason, you can easily do so using your mobile phone.

Testimonials

Barton Family, Lancashire 1x Discovery Collector

‘Twelve months on from investing in the Discovery 120 Collector, Chris Barton says: “This robot is doing a cracking job; its working round the clock keeping the shed cleaner, so we’ve cleaner cows 24/7. In fact, it’s the one bit of kit I couldn’t do with out and what’s more, it is scheduled to pay for itself within five years.’

Bowe Family, Cumbria 2x A5 Robotic Milking Systems

‘Investing in two A5’s robotic milking systems is helping Will and Nicola Bowe to achieve their business goals and have a family life. “We’re about making this business more efficient. We take great pride in what we do, we’re striving to be the best,” says Nicola. So far success is reflected in their 105-cow commercial herd’s performance. “Yield has improved by 50% to an average 11,500 litres, whilst maintaining solids. We have a lot fewer health issues, and the vet bill has been cut by 30%.”’

Findlay family, Cumbria 2x A5 Robotic Milking Systems

‘Mac Findlay says the future of the family’s 120 cow dairy enterprise depended on its decision to invest in a robotic milking system with the continued ability to graze. “Dad and myself had battled for years over swapping our herringbone parlour for robots; and it came down to being a case of I’d stay on the farm, if we were prepared to embrace technology. We finally did, and we’d now say it's the best things that’s happened on this farm.”’

Hutchinson family, North Yorkshire 2x A3 Robotic Milking Systems

‘Returning from college over a decade ago, Sam Hutchinson says the unit needed a new parlour and amongst the options were milking robots. “They provided the opportunity to improve our lifestyle and offer a lift in milk yield. But we knew we could only consider robots if we could continue to graze. We manage an organic unit supplying OMSCo and our ethos is to graze outside as much as possible which also fits with our sales contract.’

Rab Family, York 1x Juno Flex

‘Ben Rab says his Juno feed pusher is one of the most indispensable pieces of kit on the farm. “It’s guaranteed 24/7 to keep fresh feed in front of the cows, it consistently keeps working and it’s contributing to an extra one litre per head per day. In fact, it’s a no brainer; the Juno is a relatively simple piece of kit that’s cost effective to buy and we reckon that extra yield covered will cover its the cost within 18 months.’

Rae Family, Dumfries 2x A3 & 2x A4 Robotic Milking Systems

‘The Rae family was amongst the first in their region to introduce milking robots a decade ago. “We installed two Lely Astronaut A3 automatic milking systems back in 2011 and then carried on milking the rest of the cows through the parlour,” Alan explains. “Four years later, such was our confidence in the robots that we decided to invest in another two and milk the entire herd through the automated system.”’

‘Investing in greenfield site shed with Lely A5 milking robots has resulted in a 25% yield lift to 10,000 litre herd average and the opportunity to fulfil plans for herd expansion, says Caroline Yarrow.
