Customer Testimonials

John Mitchell - Castlederg, Eglish

12 x A4 robot, 2 x A5 robot, 14 x Lely Cosmix out of parlour feeders, 4 x Lely Junos, 5 x Discovery SW90's, 1 x Discovery Collector

The Mitchell family’s 750-cow Grove Dairy Herd, overall winner of Holstein NI’s best large junior herd in 2023, is based at Castlederg in County Tyrone. The herd is currently achieving a rolling herd average of 13,000 litres per cow per year at 4.02% butterfat and 3.26% protein.

Mark Lewis – Richhill

1 x Lely Juno, 2 x Astronaut A5, 1 x Discovery Scraper

For over 150 years, Mark Lewis’ family have worked the same ground on which the farm sits to this day. In August 2020, the farm converted from a suckler beef herd to a fully robotic dairy unit with 120 cows being milked by two Lely A5 robots. In February 2023, Mark decided to automate the business further by installing a Lely Juno and Discovery scraper to fine-tune his daily operations, making life easier.

Paul & Stuart Lyness - Richhill

2x A4, 2x Discovery 90, X1 Lely Vector

Since Lyness’ installed their Vector, they now have a predicted 305 day yield of 11,500kg at a feed rate of 0.37kg/litre. Current daily average yields are 38kgs, 3.3% protein and 3.9% fats. Their impressive feed efficiency of 1.7kg of milk from 1kg of dry matter fed highlights their commitment to precision feeding and producing top-quality forage.

Stephen and David Cargill - Antrim

Lely Vector

Maximising efficiency and productivity, while also being as self-sufficient as possible has always been a priority for Stephen and David Cargill. Their 150-cow herd of pedigree Holsteins averages 11,200 litres of milk at 4.1% butterfat and 3.18% protein with recent improvements contributing to the farm being announced as Supreme Champion of the Lakeland Dairies Milk Quality Awards in June 2023.
