Lely Astronaut A5

Cow friendly milking

The new milestone in milking. The Lely Astronaut is suited to every farm. With the Lely Astronaut A5, you achieve optimal freedom of movement for your cows. With free cow traffic, the cows decide themselves when to eat, drink, relax or be milked.

Lely Vector

Cow friendly feeding

Automatic feeding means that cows are fed with precision. You can define exactly the right ingredients needed to feed each group of animals, including beef cattle. This has a positive influence on feed efficiency, and the development and production of your animals.

Lely Discovery Collector 120

Cow friendly barn cleaning

The Discovery Collector is specifically designed for barns with solid floors and takes a revolutionary diverse approach when compared to traditional manure scrapers. The Collector does not push manure, but vacuums it. This makes the build-up of manure – in which cows stand – a thing of the past.

Lely Juno

Cow friendly feed pushing

The Lely Juno takes over the repetitive work of pushing the feed multiple times a day. By pushing feed regularly, it is always within the cows’ reach. Every cow, even those lower in rank, can eat the roughage it needs for optimal rumen health and growth.

Testimonials

We strive to have happy and satisfied customers, read more about our farmers' experience of automation on their farms!

Mark Pierce, Gallops Farm, Leicestershire

8 x Astronaut A5's , 1 x Discovery Collector

"We used to employ a team of three staff to milk two times a day, however it was becoming an increasing challenge to both attract and retain staff,” says Mark Pierce. “Nowadays, we are running the unit with a lower labour input, which has enabled us to make substantial financial savings."

Andrew Griffiths, Bulls Green Farm

6 x Astronaut A5's, 2 x MFR Vector Feeding System, 4 x Lely Calm

"We decided to invest in three robots but still put half the herd through the parlour - and soon realised we were losing between five to ten litres a day from the cows going through the parlour. It was a no brainer to invest in the second lot of three."

Ed Rowland, Barncroft Farm, Cheshire

4 x Astronaut A5's

“We looked at the options, but it didn’t take very long for me to make up my mind. The benefits of robots over a parlour were very evident,” he explains. “Our long-term strategy has been to breed for yield and longevity, we’re pleased with the outcome and our milking robots have certainly helped us to get there."

Andrew Dale, Newnham Farm, Shropshire

6 x Astronaut A5's

“Our internal rotary was getting to the point it was unreliable and we were heading for serious problems with the running gear. Added to that was the issue of sourcing reliable, trained staff. We installed the first four A5s in 2018, there was minimum disruption and we were pleased with the herd’s performance response."

Summerfields Holsteins, Staffordshire

4 x Astronaut A5's, 1 x Juno Flex

“Since switching on four Lely A5s 12 months ago, we’re managing the herd more efficiently, we’ve more flexibility, we’ve a better work-life balance and we’ve succession. I was stuck in a routine running ragged and didn’t want to spend another 20 years standing in a parlour. "

Aaron & Sally Liggins, Fulmore Farm

2 x Astronaut A4's, 1 x Grazeway, 1 x Juno Flex, 1 x Collector

"We were milking cows through a 30-year-old parlour when we made the decision seven years ago to invest in two Lely A4 robotic milking systems."
