Platform Software Engineer

Are you an engineer who thrives on building tools for developers? Do you enjoy writing software that improves the developer experience and supports platform teams? Then this is your chance.
As a Platform Engineer (Software) at Lely, you will work on the internal tooling that forms the backbone of our development organization.
You will be part of the Developer Experience Team, collaborating closely with other engineers to further develop our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). Thanks to your work, development teams can deliver software faster, more securely, and more consistently. You will build and maintain internal tools and Terraform modules used across the entire organization and actively contribute to optimizing our platform.
Your key responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining internal tooling for the Platform Team
- Further developing the Internal Developer Platform (IDP)
- Maintaining and improving our Terraform modules
- Contributing to a secure, scalable, and robust developer environment
Wat is jouw ervaring?
You're a pragmatic engineer who gets energy from building reliable and efficient tools. You’re solution-oriented, work in a structured way, and know when to standardize and when to allow for customization.
You also bring the following:
- Experience with Kubernetes and managing containerized environments
- Proficient in Python and comfortable writing technical tooling
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform and/or Ansible
- A structured way of working and a strong interest in developer productivity and developer experience
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and cloud platforms such as Azure is a plus
- Bonus points for knowledge of tools like Talos, Omni, ArgoCD, or Backstage

What can you expect in your role as a Platform Software Engineer?
